Even though reading is my primary leisure, I do love watching Netflix every now and then. I’ve been an on/off subscriber for a few years right now and after having watched many of the series, there are a few that stay in my heart. And I don’t mind watching them for thousands of times!
4. Alice in Borderland
Ever woke up in the morning and realised that the world around has changed, that you’re inside of a video game? You need to play the game, but not with a remote control as you’re the player. You have to play the game because the span of your life depends on it. I just love this series! This Netflix series is released in 2020. So, it’s before Squid Game. The difference between this series and Squid Game is that in Squid Game you’re playing childhood’s games. In Alice in Borderland it’s like being a video games player. Both are good series, but I love Alice in Borderland a more! [I’m sorry, Squid Game fans!]
Here’s a trailer of Alice in Borderland:
3. Once Upon a Time
All the fairy tales characters, just name them all, are living in the same town called Storybrooke.
Emma Swan is led by her son Henry to where he lives: Storybrooke. Henry has been adopted [because Emma has given him away as a baby] by its town mare who happened to be the Evil Queen in the other world. Henry tried to convince her that everyone’s living a fake life: they don’t know who they actually are, that they’re under the spell of the Evil Queen and every day they do exactly the same things over and over again.
I love this amazing series! My favourite characters are Rumplestiltskin [Mr. Gold] and Hook. It’s so unfortunate that this series is not on Netflix anymore, but you can still watch it on Disney+

2. Timeless
A team including Professor Lucy Preston, her bodyguard Wyatt Logan and engineer Rufus Carlin go back in time to capture Garcia Flynn after he steals a time machine to change American history. Professor Lucy has been recruited because she’s a great historian. At first she obviously doesn’t believe that time travel is possible. But after landing and seeing a zeppelin, she was wow-ing. So, she and the team got an order to chase this Garcia Flynn and to prevent him changing history, only to end up turning the table by working together with him. Here’s the trailer of it:
How would you feel if you were to go back to the time when Bonnie and Clyde were in action? Or when George Washington was to become a president? How would you react if you meet Ian Flemming, the author of James Bond? This Netflix series is remarkable! I love the plots, the characters, the working together as a team that eventually become family. Their loss, their winning, their luck, their adventures, and them realising that they could never go back to the ordinary world. I got very emotional when they lost someone…..
It’s been a joy watching this series! I will never mind watching this over and over again. However, this series is not on Netflix anymore and it’s such a bummer!
- Orphan Black
Yes! My number one winner goes to Orphan Black!
Sarah Manning is a con artist who witnessed a suicide of a woman named Beth Childs. This woman happened to look exactly like her so she stole her bag and assumed her identity. Little did she know that Beth was a police detective. Together with her so called partner they worked to solve cases. From here, Sarah realised that she’s a clone, and she has many “sister” clones spread throughout North America and Europe that are all part of an illegal human cloning experiment, and that someone is plotting to kill them and her.
Here’s some best moments of Tatiana Maslany [the one who played all the clown roles]
Orphan Black is my number one because Maslany was able to play different roles. And I knew that it all were played by the same person but sometime I thought they were all different persons.
There are so many series and films that aren’t series on Netflix, but I always miss watching Orphan Black and Timeless. While Once Upon a Time can still be watched on Disney+, I don’t want to have more video streaming subscription services. And oh….I wish that there’s a new season for Alice in Borderland!
