My review about The Housemaid’s Wedding by Freida McFadden in Dutch
Guide for reading War and Peace
Many people have fear from reading this book. They think it’s thick, will take a long time to finish, and it must be a difficult read. Well, it’s true that it’s a thick book. And you can use it to slap someone [not saying you should do it. But you can ;)], but the chapters are short. It starts with a society party, where many of the novel’s characters are introduced.
This Earth of Mankind
This is the first book in Buru Quartet series. It’s a fenomenal, Indonesian classic written by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. It’s such a page-turner. Here’s my reviews and comment about this book.
Pachinko
In the early 1900s, teenaged Sunja, the adored daughter of a crippled fisherman, falls for a wealthy stranger at the seashore near her home in Korea. He promises her the world, but when she discovers she is pregnant—and that her lover is married—she refuses to be bought.
Bring Me Back – B. A. Paris
I have had this book on my shelf for a while, but had only the opportunity to read this year. I have a long TBR list. It’s a fast-paced thriller with short chapters that it’s possible to read in one sitting. I myself have read this within 24 hours.
Six Tudor Queens 3: Jane Seymour
The third book of Six Tudor Queen. While I enjoy this book, it got more interesting after Jane is married. This book also told the story about Anne Boleyn in the eyes of the people around her, according to Alison Weir
Salt to the Sea – Ruta Sepetys
This is the first book by Ruta Sepetys that I’ve read. Easy to read and a reminder of the tragic event of Wilhelm Gustloff. If you like a WWII novel, I bet you’ll like this one!
The Stationery Shop
This is my first read by this author. I love that this novel combined the history of Iran in 1953 without it being complicated and romance. I’m not familiar with the situation in Iran. All I could imagine is that Iran must have been a beautiful country before the religious fanatics took over the country
