The Stationery Shop

This is my first read by this author. I love that this novel combined the history of Iran in 1953 without it being complicated and romance. I’m not familiar with the situation in Iran. All I could imagine is that Iran must have been a beautiful country before the religious fanatics took over the country

Six Tudor Queens 2: Anne Boleyn

This is the second book of The Six Tudor Queens series by Alison Weir. Anne Boleyn used to be my favourite until I’ve learned more about her and also until I’ve read more about Katherine of Aragon. Anne Boleyn was my favourite as I thought she was outspoken and had her own unchanging opinion, despite being Henry’s wife. But while reading the first book and this one, my opinion about her changed.

Six Tudor Queen 1: Katherine of aragon

Admit it. History lessons are often boring, right? How about a novel, based on historical facts even though it’s categorised as historical fiction? Yes, yes! I can recommend this book and I tell you why

Hamnet – Maggie O’Farrell

This book has received many excellent reviews, hence I purchased it.

Reading this exactly during the COVID19 pandemic, and there’s a pandemic in this book. As much as I would like to love this book, I must admit that I didn’t have the energy every time I started to continue reading it. Probably not the right time to read it. Maybe I’ll revisit this book in the future

The Miniaturist – Jessie Burton

An excellent read! This book kept me entertained from the start til the beginning.

Although I knew that there’s a BBC adaptation of this novel, I haven’t watched the series.
